Hi, I’m Sandra. Welcome to The Happyist.
I’ve been taking a course, recently, on releasing trauma blocks. Because don’t we all have them? And I’m really enjoying it, getting a lot out of it, understanding where I’ve been holding myself back and why. Which is always fun to do.
Then we got to a module about manifesting money quickly. Okay, why not, right? Let’s play along. Not that I don’t believe in manifesting. I do. We do it all the time. Right now, even. But this was about deciding on a number you were going to manifest in 14 days.
Again, happy to play along. One of the questions asked was what would you do if you needed to raise a great sum for an emergency (like a loved one needing a life-saving surgery). How would you manifest that?
Some of the suggestions were a car wash…crowd-funding…opening a credit card…applying for a loan. And I kind of shut down with that, going into full WTF. Because, to me, that’s not manifesting! I mean credit cards and loans? That’s manifesting debt, not abundance, IMO. You know how I love to split a hair and get picky with words; so, this is me stuff. Let me share it with you anyway.
To me, manifesting is kind of pulling something out of thin air, not just magically…you have to do some work. But the thing you manifest develops from or comes to you. Like manifesting success in business, for instance — you’d need to have a business first, you’d have to do the right work, be focused on your business growth and all that good stuff. But the clients, sales or money that comes in — sort of unexpectedly — feels a little magical. But your mindset and work ethic contributed to that manifesting and hooray, anyway! That sort of falls into the goal-setting area of manifestation.
On the other hand, a crisis creates motivation. That’s when we go into action mode. Car washes. Bake sales. Yard sales. Crowdfunding. Asking loved ones for help. That, to me, is different from manifesting. You are out there, in full graft, getting it done.
However, if after all your hard work you find yourself in a shortfall, and a donation from a good soul comes in to make up for that shortage, that’s a little miracle that you did, in fact, manifest.
In the words of Don Henley: Are you with me so far? (IYKYK)
